The Epic Journey in Search of a Journey
I grew up watching television. The Disney channel and Nickelodeon took me on adventures to new worlds and gave me a vision of new experiences from different perspectives. Shows like The Wild Thornberrys, Kim Possible, and Boy Meets World (it was in syndication on Disney Channel) all showed me what the world had to offer. They taught me to follow my dreams, how to make hard decisions, and how to explore the world.
Because of this childhood of fiction, I have based a lot of my life and personal journeys on episodes of these shows. I go on car trips, make friends with professors, and spend way too much time trying to fix other peoples problems.
I have always talked about taking adventures with friends. I have gone to Israel, Cuba, and my next adventure will be Iceland. Hopefully, I will actually get there to see the Northern Lights. Unfortunately, anytime I leave the US for more than a week, everything that can go wrong does.
I am in constant search of an adventure that doesn't go terribly wrong, and one that allows me to meet amazing people. Alas, I am still on this hunt.
Until I find my dream exploration, I guess my failed attempts will just be things I tell my therapist.
